Bousfield Holiday Cottages
Welcome to Bousfield Holiday Cottages. With ample private parking, secure gardens and outside dining areas, either The Smithy or The Barn are the perfect venue for a relaxing break away for two or if the two properties are combined, there is accommodation for up to nine guests in four bedrooms, making this the ideal place for that long-awaited gathering of family and friends.
The Smithy
The Smithy dates back to 1694 and was originally a farmhouse. It has been tastefully and modernised but still maintains its traditional charm and character with old oak beams and low ceilings.
On the ground floor is a large boot room, kitchen with dining area and a living room with wood burning stove and smart TV.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with double bed and an en suite shower, a twin room which can (on request) be turned into a double, and a family bathroom.
The Barn
The Barn features accommodation all on the ground floor, with a boot room and lofty ceilings, in its open plan kitchen, dining, living room, with wood burning stove and Smart TV.
There is a double bedded room with en suite shower room, a family bathroom, and a twin room which can (on request) be turned into a double. There is also the option to create a triple or family room by using the single sofa bed.
Your hosts David and Sharon are on hand to assist and offer guidance local walks, places to dine and visitor attractions
Bousfield Holiday Cottages
In the picturesque countryside of the Westmorland Dales National Park, bordering the Lake District our cottage and barn are only 5 minutes from J38 or J39 of the M6. Only a mile away is the quaint village of Orton, whose amenties include a pub, cafe, village store and chocolate factory. Tebay Services Farm Shops can also be found within easy reach.
Our dog friendly accommodation is ideally situated for an overnight stay, short break or longer holiday and is also close to the ‘Coast to Coast’ walk. As well as many local attractions and country walks, it offers easy access to all that the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Scottish Border have to offer.
